Bio:
Chris Goode is a former professional football player turned successful coach, currently serving as the Head Football Coach at Miles College. With a distinguished athletic background and a passion for mentoring young athletes, Chris is dedicated to shaping the next generation of football players both on and off the field.
Born and raised in Town Creek, Al, Chris's love for football began at an early age. He went on to play for the University of Alabama as a cornerback, where he became known for his exceptional skills and leadership. His time with the Crimson Tide was marked by significant contributions that helped the team achieve remarkable success.
Following his collegiate career, Chris was drafted in the 10th round into the NFL, where he played for the Indianapolis Colts for 7 years. His professional journey was highlighted by winning special teams honors and player of the game honors. After retiring from professional football, Chris pursued a coaching career, starting in arena football, where he developed his skills in player development and game strategy.
In addition to his coaching roles, Chris played a pivotal role in the formation of the NFL Players Association (NFLPA) Birmingham Chapter, serving as its president. Under his leadership, the chapter was awarded the prestigious NFLPA Chapter of the Year in 2016, a testament to his commitment to player advocacy and community engagement.
Now, as Head Football Coach at Miles College, Chris is focused on building a competitive program that emphasizes discipline, teamwork, and academic success. His coaching philosophy centers on creating a positive environment where players can thrive both as athletes and individuals.
Outside of football, Chris is a devoted family man. He has been happily married to Angela Weir for three years, and has five children: Lavar, Christopher, Kendall, Keenan, and Matthew. Chris enjoys golfing, traveling, fishing, and remains committed to inspiring young athletes through his leadership and dedication.
